USA Prov. Patent filed with PCT. What is the time limit to file in Canada and Europe? - provisional patent canada

I put a provisional patent application in the United States in December 2007. PCT has been given. What is the time to seek protection in Canada and Europe? How much should I expect to make first paid for?

Hello.

The time limit to enter the national phase in China is 30 months from the filing date of the provisional patent application. For Europe, it's 31 months from the provisional's filing date.

My company has a cost calculator that you can use to determine how much it would cost to enter the national phase using our platform.

We're generally lower cost than going direct to patent firms overseas or via your local attorney's foreign agents (although we work extensively with law firms too, and would be happy to work with your local counsel).

Please visit our website or contact our New York office for more information.

Jeff

In summary, the presentation of the PCT, rather than directly in the member countries, and can the "national phase" wait for the presentation of that country,) to 30 months from the filing of the United States (31 months in some countries.

PCT fees are not insignificant. Expect to spend several thousand dollars.
